Gifts of Stock

There are great tax advantages of donating highly appreciated stock.  You can generally avoid the capital gains taxes on the appreciation you would normally incur AND you still deduct the fair market value of the asset!

A contribution of a stock that has increased in value over time can provide you with terrific tax advantages while still supporting the important work of Ellie's Fund.  Gifts of highly appreciated assets are often the optimal way for someone to give back.

Charitable Remainder Trusts

A charitable remainder trust allows you to take a large tax deduction today, but continue to draw income from the trust for a fixed number of years or for the rest of your life.

Charitable remainder trusts are excellent tools for those who wish to make a significant contribution out of their assets, but still need income to support their living expenses.

Donors either draw out a fixed amount (an annuity trust) or a fixed percentage that varies based on the current value of the trust (a unitrust).
Life Estates

Do you have a home you plan on donating to charity when you pass on?  You can give it to charity now, get a partial tax deduction, and still live in your home for the rest of your life!

It's called a Life Estate.  You transfer the deed of your home to Ellie's Fund today but have the absolute right to enjoy living in it for the rest of your life.

In return for your generosity, the IRS permits you a tax deduction based on the value of your home less the value of living in it rent free for the rest of our life.  A Life Estate is a terrific way to get a tax deduction without impacting your current income.
Estate Planning

Of course the simplest planned gift of all is simply to name Ellie's Fund as a beneficiary in your will. Ellie's uncle, Bret Bicoy, is a foundation president and an expert in charitable giving.  He is volunteering his time to help anyone who would like to discuss leaving Ellie's Fund in their estate plan, or would like help facilitating a gift of any sort of asset.
